Course Overview

Regular physical activity can help adolescents improve cardiorespiratory fitness, build stronger bones and muscles, control their weight, and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.

As a personal trainer you need to understand the differences between adolescents and adults and how these differences can impact exercise prescription and programming.

This includes knowing how to:
  • Screen and assess adolescent clients
  • Develop personalised exercise programs for adolescent clients
  • Plan individual sessions
  • Instruct exercise sessions for adolescent clients
  • Encourage and support clients during sessions
  • Evaluate program effectiveness


By the end of this subject, you will have the knowledge to be able to complete each of these tasks effectively and accurately when working with adolescent clients.
