Course Overview
In the study of exercise science, there are several different principles that must be followed in order to get the most from exercise programs and improve both physical fitness and sports performance.

These principles apply to every client that a fitness trainer may work with. Of course, you don't need to follow every one of them all the time, but if you want your clients to get in better shape, improve their sports performance, get better at a particular fitness discipline, or avoid hitting fitness plateaus, these principles are the hidden force behind your ability to facilitate and coach change.

Simply put, to design an optimal exercise program, workout, or training schedule, a fitness trainer, needs to be familiar with the key principles of exercise science. This module is dedicated to not only learning these key principles but showing how these principles are then applied to the creation and prescription of high-quality exercise programs.
