The food a client eats plays a vital role in how they look and feel. We know that exercise provides many health benefits, however it is when exercise is combined with good nutrition that a client will see the most positive changes to their overall health and wellness.
Therefore, as fitness trainers we should be encouraging our clients to not only exercise, but to also focus on healthy food intake to help them reach their fitness goals. When healthy exercise and eating habits become a lifestyle, clients become healthier, both physically and mentally. Following good nutritional guidelines allows clients to reduce body fat, gain lean muscle, feel more confident, and reduce their risk of illness.
In this subject we will examine the basics of good nutrition and how it can be applied when working with clients in a fitness setting.
